Dive into the Cause—Wednesday, May 7, 2025
Chamber Day 2025 is the United States’ largest single-day scuba charity event—and a vital fundraiser for the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, ensuring it remains operational 24/7/365 to protect the diving community.
Our History
Founded in 1974 with the help of a Los Angeles County grant, the Chamber performed its first treatment a week after opening. By the mid-80s, budget cuts threatened its survival. In 1988, when the loss of funding seemed imminent, Roger Hess, owner of Charisma Charters, united the diving community. The first Chamber Day raised over $15,000, marking the beginning of a lasting tradition.
Over the years, financial support has grown:
- 1990s: Surpassed $50,000 raised annually
- 2006: First year reaching $100,000
- 2021: Achieved $150,000
With your help, we aim to cross $200,000 in 2025!
