Current Graduate Students
In the 18 years since the ASE PhD program was founded, we have graduated 74 PhD students. We currently have 38 students in various stages of their graduate work. Our students publish in peer reviewed journals, participate in national and international conferences and do research around the world.
Many of our students have received national fellowships: 18 Ford, 16 Haynes, 2 ACLS/Mellon, 2 Mellon, 3 AAUW, 2 Fulbright, 1 NSF, 1 Truman and 1 SSHRC. 42 of our students have been placed in tenure-track jobs. These appointments include positions at leading research universities: Yale, Dartmouth, UCLA, UC Riverside, University of Oregon, Arizona State University, University of Nevada, University of Maryland, Michigan State University, University of Kansas; small liberal arts colleges including Smith, Scripps, Pitzer, Ithaca, Claremont McKenna, and Trinity College and many campuses of California State University.
