  • Abigail Rosas will have her new book out in June 2019 — South Central Is Home: Race and the Power of Community Investment in Los Angeles (Stanford University Press, 2019)
  • Perla Guerrero received tenure at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018.
  • Sharon Luk’s bookThe Life of Paper: Letters and a Poetics of Living Beyond Captivity (University of CA press, 2017) won two book awards: The Lora Romero First Book Prize of the American Studies Assn and the Matei Calinescu Prize of the Modern Language Association for Distinguished Scholarship in 20/21st Century Thought and Literature.
  • Emily Hobson was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Laura Barraclough was promoted to Associate Professor and named the Sarai K. Ribicoff Associate Professor of American Studies at Yale.
  • Jolie Chea accepted a tenure track position at UCLA in Asian American Studies.
  • Emily Raymundo accepted a tenure track position at the University of Manchester in the UK.  The position is a 2019-2023 Presidential Fellowship in American Studies.
