Pi Mu Epsilon, the undergraduate math honors society, is open to all interested undergraduates. We generally meet for an hour once a week. One focus is contest problem solving, including practice for the annual nationwide William Lowell Putnam competition, held on the first Saturday in December. We also look at mathematical games and puzzles, and questions brought by the student members. Student members have been participants in REUs – National Science Foundation sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates, and study abroad programs. We occasionally have guest lectures, and view math videos. The faculty advisors are Professors Richard Arratia and Sergey Lototsky.
