The USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute invites Ph.D. candidates at USC who are affiliated with EMSI to submit proposals for the EMSI 2025 Summer Tutorial Instructor Position. Eligible applicants must be ABD and may be in years 3, 4, or 5 in their graduate program at USC in Spring 2025.

 

The Summer Tutorial Instructor will teach a 4-week course on any topic in early modern studies. The instructor will help with the advertisement of the course as well as the selection of five participants from a competitive pool of applications from undergraduate students at USC. The course will meet in-person for 2-hour sessions twice a week during any consecutive four weeks during the USC summer terms. The instructor will receive a $5,000 summer research award.

 

To apply, please submit a tutorial proposal, including a CV, course description, and proposed course schedule to emsi@dornsife.usc.edu by February 14, 2025. The proposal should include the applicant’s dissertation title, date of entry into graduate program, date of qualifying exam, and intended date of degree completion.
