Bio

Ava Bindas is a Technical Writer for the Center of Economic and Social Research, working specifically with the Program on Global Aging, Health, and Policy. Ava recently completed her PhD in English with an emphasis in Feminist Research and Theory from the University of California Davis, where she also taught writing and literature courses. Prior to graduate school, she received her BA in English and Political Science from Macalester College. In addition to her teaching and research, Ava has worked for years as an Associate Editor for an interdisciplinary hub of peer-reviewed pedagogical resources for international instructors teaching nineteenth-century humanities courses called Undisciplining the Victorian Classroom. Unsurprisingly, she loves reading – but also enjoys climbing, yoga, cooking, as well as playing and watching soccer in her free time.
