I had the opportunity to study abroad in Quito, Ecuador, and my experience was nothing short of amazing. I knew I wanted to travel and live in Latin America but naturally, I gravitated towards the volcanoes in Ecuador.

I was a direct enrollment student at la Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) but my program was overseen by IES Quito. One of the highlights of my time there was the friends in my classes and exploring topics from a global south perspective.

Ecuador is truly one of the world’s hidden gems. You won’t regret choosing to study in one of the most beautiful countries to exist. It is an indescribable feeling to be able to hike and summit the mountains and volcanoes of Ecuador. I was able to experience a world beyond what I imagined.

Despite my time in Ecuador being limited, I experienced a life like no other. I can’t wait till the day I can return to explore the natural wonders once more.
