Ask Me About: Learning how to adjust to a new city and lifestyle, and loving it so much that you can’t wait to go back. I’m happy to share anything you may have questions about: how to find an apartment and live independently abroad, how to plan the perfect weekend trip, or even how to dress and behave to avoid looking like a cliché American tourist. If you’re looking for general advice, restaurant recommendations, or want to talk about French culture or clear up some common misconceptions about studying abroad, feel free to reach out.
Advice: Just go for it. It may feel a bit intimidating at first to be in a program without many other USC students, but that’s exactly what makes the experience so rewarding. Get outside of your bubble—it’s by far the best way to truly learn and grow. Say yes to invitations, don’t be afraid to start conversations, and take the lead on planning group outings. Some of the best connections I made and experiences I had came from just taking that initiative. I’d also recommend getting involved in campus life. Join clubs and go to school events, as these are great ways to meet other students and feel like part of the community. And of course, make the most of the city. Explore beyond the typical tourist spots—Paris is full of hidden gems, you just have to be willing to wander around aimlessly to find them. Most importantly, enjoy every minute. It will all be over before you know it!
