Telemundo Interview on Professor Portnoy’s New Documentary

A Telemundo news segment highlighted scenes from Professor Portnoy’s documentary film series, “Abuelitas on the Borderlands,” which takes place in 4 different border cities, Los Angeles, San Diego, El Paso, and Tucson. In the documentary series, Mexican and Mexican American grandmothers share their personal journeys, food stories, cultural traditions, as well as triumphs and challenges. It also talks about USC students’ personal reactions to the films and how much they have enjoyed getting to meet the abuela and street vendor, Merced Sanchez, in their classes.
