BIO: Eivind Ystrøm is a professor of personality psychology and leader of the genetics research group (GeoGen) at PROMENTA Research Center, University of Oslo. His main research interest is gene-environment interplay for early life socioeconomic status and mental health development. This includes extended pedigree and molecular genetic studies on genetic transmission; how heritable traits in parents have effect on children, or “genetic nurture”; and how genetic effects varies over schools and neighbourhoods. The GeoGen team integrates national registries and large genotyped cohort studies to apply designs for separating direct and indirect genetic effects and uncover how heritable traits interacts with the environments in shaping children’s psychological development. He is a joint editor of JCPP Advances.
