Summary Statement of Research Interests
Her research interests focus on understanding causal factors for alcohol use problems among minoritized populations in the United States. Currently, her ongoing projects center around exploring how minority-stress relates to escalations of alcohol use among LGBTQIA+ identified individuals. In the future, she hopes to continue expanding upon this research by examining the intersections of racial, sexual, and gender-identity based stigma as they relate to mental health and substance use outcomes using real-time assessment tools in the laboratory and field.
Her other research has explored questions surrounding real-time assessment for alcohol research, the etiology of alcohol-use problems in non-Western sociocultural contexts, and conceptual issues surrounding intervention with the Black LGBTQIA+ population.
