I studied abroad for my major, Health and Human Sciences. I took two psychology classes, similar to classes I would take at USC for the Health and the Mind module of my major. I took Developmental Psychology, which is a requirement for my module. I also took The Unconscious Mind, which appealed to me because it sounded very different from other psychology classes offered at USC. I’m glad I took one class in my area of study that was different from USC classes because I feel it gave me valuable knowledge from a perspective that I didn’t know much about.

I made sure to keep a balance so I also took two “fun” classes, which I highly recommend. Australia Now, helped me to learn about the history and culture of my host country and Street Art, I really enjoyed the walking tours around the city.

I really enjoyed my studies while abroad! My psychology classes had more Australian students so I appreciated making those connections and learning more about the country. On the other hand, my elective classes were very popular for study abroad students so it was nice to have others to relate to as we studied in a new country. I even had a few familiar faces from USC in my electives!
