Students studying in England (except BADA and PCSP) and Scotland can find it challenging to get involved in local student and community life and really see the varied facets of the UK beyond the lens of a tourist. They can also feel tempted to spend many weekends traveling to different European countries. The UK Cultural Program takes students on trips to an interesting variety of locations as well as to local cultural venues in their host cities. Participating in the UK Cultural Program will ensure that you get to see and experience things that many tourists miss. Accent Global Learning provides this cultural programming for USC Dornsife.

Welcome Dinner
At the beginning of each semester, Accent London staff arrange welcome dinners for students in their respective cities. This may be the first time all of the USC students at one university, or in the same city, have a chance to catch up. Dinner is usually followed by a show or a play.
Weekend Trip
Group trips to various locations throughout the UK are arranged each semester. Students can participate in one group weekend trip selected from several on offer each semester. Past destinations have included Stratford-upon-Avon, the Scottish Highlands, York and Liverpool/Manchester.
Day Trips
Various day trips are organized each term. These take students for a full day to interesting sites within a few hours’ distance of their host city.
Support and Assistance
Students abroad will receive continued support from the USC Office of Overseas Studies as well as Accent London staff, who are on-hand as a resource for students. The program staff can provide support and guidance and connect them to essential resources.
16 – 25 Railcard
Traveling by train is a great way to discover a country, meet new people, and see off-the-beaten-path locations not accessible by plane. Students are reimbursed for the purchase of a 16 – 25 Railcard, which gives a 30% discount on all rail travel within the UK and can be used at any time!
Student Organization Dues
USC will reimburse up to 60 GBP worth of student club and society dues to help you get as involved as possible. Clubs are one of the best ways to meet local students.
