Talk to me about: I’m open to all questions, but I have a lot of experience in the queer spaces of Auckland, especially in the clubs at UoA and nightlife on K-road. I can also answer questions about course work, making friends, and give recommendations on where to go around Auckland. I also traveled almost everywhere around New Zealand, from the top of Cape Reinga, to Queenstown in the South island. For these trips, me and my friends rented cars, so I can definitely answer questions about how to do that. I love Auckland and hopefully you will too
Advice: I would say to take lots of photos. I often go back and look through the photos from my time in New Zealand to reminisce and it has really helped to cope post-studying abroad. You will be going on so many adventures and meeting so many amazing people, so make sure you can remember this once in a lifetime experience. Other than that, make friends with other study abroad students and locals, but specifically try to connect with the other people coming from USC with you. My fellow peers from USC ended up being some of my best friends that I still see almost every day, and it is so helpful to be able to talk to someone in person who has been through the same experience as you afterwards.
