Talk to me about: Quite literally anything!! Studying abroad in London was truly life-changing and holds a special place in my heart. As a pre-med student involved in a pre-health program, I navigated academics while immersing myself in a new culture, and I’m excited to share my experiences. From must-do activities and top food spots to travel recommendations and itinerary planning, there’s so much to explore. I also found incredible opportunities to build friendships, connect with a church community, and balance coursework while making the most of my time abroad. If you’re wondering about the application process, scholarships, choosing classes, or managing your workload, I’d love to offer insight. Don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to help!
Advice: Studying abroad is a rare opportunity to step outside your comfort zone, and as a pre-med student, it’s a chance to see the world beyond the classroom. Be open to the unexpected—some of my best experiences came from saying “yes” to things I hadn’t planned, whether it was attending a guest lecture on global health, striking up a conversation with locals, or trying food I couldn’t even pronounce. Don’t limit yourself to well-known attractions—take advantage of London’s public transport to explore different neighborhoods, visit nearby towns, or even travel to other countries for a weekend. If you’re interested in medicine, look for ways to gain insight into different healthcare systems, whether through shadowing, volunteering, or simply observing how medical care is delivered in a global context. Most importantly, document your journey. Whether through journaling, vlogging, or even quick voice memos, keeping track of your experiences will help you reflect on your growth and remember all the moments—big and small—that made studying abroad so impactful. Above all, be patient with yourself, stay open-minded, and enjoy the ride. This experience will challenge you in new ways, but the personal and academic growth you gain will be worth it.
Best four months of my life—no exaggeration.
