The faculty of the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures is constituted by nine tenured and tenure-track members, who teach and conduct research on linguistics as well as Spanish and Latin American literary and cultural studies, and over twenty RTPC faculty who teach the basic sequence of Spanish and Portuguese and, in many cases, more advanced language, literature and culture courses.
Our students often major in other subjects besides Spanish and spend time studying abroad. Our alumni, including recent graduates, embark on various careers and professions: teaching, business, the law, medicine, and the foreign service, among others.
The staff of the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures guides students to the various resources of the department, USC Dornsife, and the University.
