Every year students of Latin American and Iberian Cultures participate in numerous service-learning and volunteer opportunities that take them around Los Angeles and across our borders to Latin America and other parts of the world.
Established in 1972, the Joint Educational Project (JEP) attracts over 2,000 USC undergraduates annually who work in schools, health-care facilities and other organizations in neighborhoods surrounding our campus. Also in Los Angeles, the Community Health Involvement Project (CHIP) is a USC Student Organization with a mission to spread health awareness to our fellow citizens.
Undergraduates working as volunteers for the USC Global Medical Brigades have helped establish mobile medical clinics in Honduras and Panama as well as Ghana. Students also take part in Healing Hearts Across Borders (HHAB), which services poor communities in Tijuana, Mexico.
