The USC Spanish and Portuguese Achievement Award acknowledges unique academic achievement. It is based on student performance, overall progress, and participation that go beyond the average course expectations, rather than high grades. It is presented to students who have shown extraordinary achievement throughout a Spanish or Portuguese Basic Language course.

Rules:

– Any student currently enrolled in the Basic Language program of the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures can be nominated; levels 120 – 280.
– Nominators will complete the Student Nomination Form and submit it by the stated deadlines.
– Selection Committee will consider the merits of each nominee and provide the instructors with the names of the award recipients, as soon as an agreement is reached.
– One award will be granted per level.
– Students can be nominated more than once, and will be considered by the committee each time.
– All nominated students will receive an email informing them of their nomination.
– Recipients will be publicly recognized at the end of the semester.
