From Bill Deverell
In keeping with our commitment to study history, the Van Hunnick History Department set up the Historical Journeys a few years ago in order for departmental staff members to create and experience history-centered trips. Each member of the department’s fulltime staff (Lori Rogers, Sandra Hopwood, Melissa Borek, and Simone Bessant) is invited to propose a trip, personally and professionally meaningful to them by way of historical understanding. The department underwrites a portion of the trip, and the staff member then reports on the trip by way of narrative and images. We think this program is a terrific way to support our staff colleagues and to further our community engagement with history and historical perspectives.
