Summary Statement of Research Interests

Lillian’s research focuses on trans-Asian Sinophone literature and media, with a particular emphasis on Vietnam. She is currently examining how Vietnam operates within trans-Asian Sinophone cultural imaginaries as a site that is “beyond pacification” in its resistance to overlapping external colonial, imperial, and national forces in the contemporary period, primarily in the post-2010s.
