I am a Health and Human Sciences/NGOs and Social Change/Sociology major/minor. How do I get D-clearance?

  • Please contact your advisor for d-clearance. Clearances will be given based on class standing and availability.

How do I enroll in a sociology course if I am not one of the department’s majors or minors?

  • Registration priority is given to the department’s majors and minors. If spaces remain available, all seats will be open the first week of August for the fall semester and the first week of January for the spring semester.

I have not completed the pre-requisites for a class I would like to take. Can I take it anyway?

  • Registration priority is given to those who have completed the pre-requisites. If spaces remain available, all seats will be open the first week of August for the fall semester and the first week of January for the spring semester. Department majors are discouraged from taking courses out of sequence.

I am not a department major, but a sociology course counts for my major or minor. How can I enroll?

  • Please ask your advisor to contact one of our department advisors for further information.

D-clearances on courses will be removed approximately the first week of August for the fall semester and the first week of January for the spring semester.

  • Once classes begin, only instructors can provide D-clearance. However, most will not admit new students after the second week of the semester.
