Biography

Mahshid Hosseinian is a PhD student in Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Southern California. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Russian Language and a Master’s degree in Russian Studies from the University of Tehran. During her studies, she also completed Russian language courses at institutions such as the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute and Saint Petersburg State University.

Her research explores the intersection of literature, intellectual history, and sociopolitical dynamics, with a focus on Russia and Iran. She is particularly interested in how female authors have navigated censorship, cultural expectations, and political repression under authoritarian regimes.
