Talk to me about: Anything you’d like to know! Though I do have some strengths in areas related to studying creative arts while in New Zealand, expectations of studying abroad versus the actual experience, how to stay in touch with people in such a completely different hemisphere, and how to get involved in events and activities outside of the university bubble. Feel free to reach out if you want someone to talk to about studying abroad, ideas about the classes offered at UoA, or tips about how to sleep on really long flights!

Advice: If something sounds interesting or like something you wouldn’t be able to do at USC/in the US, go for it. Some of my most memorable experiences and close friendships came from taking classes on Māori culture or joining the UoA Circus and Acrobatics Club, both of which were far from anything I had done before but was super rewarding in how it opened up New Zealand and a whole new community for me. Extracurricular activities and clubs are a great way to meet people and see different parts of the country, especially ones related to hiking or a sport that travels as part of its events.
