Zach Brown – University of Auckland

Talk to me about: Anything and everything whether it’s school related or not. Taking STEM classes abroad, making friends in a new environment, adjusting to different laws and cultural norms, maintaining a work life balance while abroad, anything about New Zealand or Australia, traveling before and after your program, activities in and around Auckland, expectations vs reality of studying abroad, or even how to buy a car in New Zealand.

Advice: Take some fun classes you wouldn’t be able to take at USC. If you’re studying in the southern hemisphere, consider traveling to other countries in the time before/after your semester abroad. Most importantly, you will only have so much time abroad. Step out of your comfort zone as much as possible. You won’t regret doing something new as much as you’ll regret never trying.
