Consider a degree in Earth Sciences at USC. Graduates have strong employment outlooks and high starting salaries – geoscience degrees are in demand! Our undergraduate students enjoy a small class environment, opportunities for lab internships with our research-active faculty, expenses-paid field trips and lots of financial support for research available. We are a ‘best kept secret’ department! Our major and minors are flexible, great for underclassmen or transfer students. With science courses that you may have already completed, and a few electives from a wide range of topics you may be able to add minors in Geobiology (hello pre-meds!), Geohazards (for engineers and policy types), or Climate Change, Stewardship and Resiliency (great for business and communications majors!).

Prospective undergraduates who are interested in USC Earth Sciences can apply directly through the USC online application. Current USC undergraduate students can email our Student Services Advisor Darlene Garza (garzadar@usc.edu) or Director of Undergraduate Studies, Professor Dave Bottjer (dbottjer@usc.edu) to add a major, add a minor, or explore research opportunities!
