Summary Statement of Research Interests
Her research explores contemporary science fiction from mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong through the frameworks of feminist and gender theory, postcolonial studies, and Sinophone studies. Focusing on the thematic and aesthetic dimensions of the genre, she examines how women’s and queer science fiction engages with Sinophone contexts and reimagines the geopolitical and sociocultural boundaries of Chineseness. She also conducts comparative analyses of Chinese and Korean science fiction in both literature and film.
