Lorena Cardona Gonzaléz

Lorena Cardona Gonzaléz is a professor in the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences at the Universidad de Caldas (Colombia). Lorena earned her PhD in History and MA in History and Memory from the Universidad de la Plata (Colombia). Following her doctoral studies, Lorena was also a Postdoctoral Fellow in History at the Instituto de Investigación en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales (IdICHS) and National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) at the Universidad de la Plata. She is the recipient of numerous fellowships, including more recently the Judith B. and Burton P. Resnick Postdoctoral Fellowship at USHMM. Lorena joined the Latin American Interdisciplinary Research Team in 2019. Her project focuses on representations of the Holocaust in Colombia, history of Jewish and German migration during World War II, the Nazi party in Colombia, and the post-war treatment of Jewish refugees from Nazism.
