Environmental Studies graduate wins prestigious fellowships
Original story by Margaret Crable
Giancarlo Ceja ’24, a recent graduate of the Wrigley Institute’s Environmental Studies Program, grew up in California’s Inland Empire, an area heavily impacted by environmental disparities. The experience fostered his ambition to become an advocate for environmental justice and equitable environmental policies.
In planning the next stage of his journey toward that goal, he was able to choose from not one but three prestigious fellowships. Ceja was selected for a Fulbright Award, a Luce Scholarship, and a policy fellowship with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. He opted for the fellowship, as the award most closely tied to his desired career path.
