Wrigley Institute Launches New Annual Magazine
The Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability (WIES) has launched a new magazine, Soundings, to share the stories of the students, faculty, and staff working to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable future for our planet and the people who live on it.
Currently, the magazine is planned as an annual publication. The first issue covers March 2022-March 2023 and includes:
- Stories about new, original research on pollinator biodiversity, alternative fuels, nanoparticles, the history of water usage, and climate misinformation
- A look behind the scenes at new offerings such as the Maymester Residential College and Storymakers Program
- The story of our efforts to help increase diversity in marine science and restore a keystone species to California’s coast
- A celebration of USC Sea Grant’s 50 years of advocating for the communities and ecosystems of Southern California’s urban ocean and coast
- …and much, much more.
“We chose the title Soundings because of its connotation of probing unknown depths and testing ideas – something our researchers do daily, and something we’re training our students to do as they become environmental scientists, policymakers, communicators, and leaders in their own right,” says Wrigley Institute Director Joe Árvai.
Join us on our journey to a better tomorrow, and enjoy the magazine!
