We get it: the Wrigley Marine Science Center’s setting is so special, you’ve just got to capture it. But first – whether you’re looking to collect photos and video for research, a class project, or a commercial production – there are a few things to keep in mind.
Filming and Photography
All filming and photography projects, whether conducted for academic or commercial purposes, must follow certain guidelines. With few exceptions, all projects also involve location fees and require the execution of a filming contract with USC on behalf of the Wrigley Institute.
Note: To accommodate USC’s typical contract approval timeline, we recommend contacting us at least 6 weeks prior to your desired shoot dates.

Drone Use
Due to FAA regulations and the presence of an active helipad on our campus, recreational drone use is not allowed at the Wrigley Marine Science Center.
Drone use may be allowed for research purposes (e.g., GIS mapping), educational activities, or approved commercial productions. See our drone page for full requirements and resources.
Note: Drone use must be approved separately from other activities and typically takes at least 30 days, so please plan ahead.
