The Southern California Bight is home to highly productive and diverse ecosystems that have significant economic and cultural significance. Offshore islands along the Southern California coastline provide a lens into the history of the coast and provide protected habitats for both terrestrial and marine species. USC Sea Grant has a long history of studying these diverse and important habitats and the species that call them home, and we will continue to focus our research, outreach, and education efforts to support healthy coastal ecosystems.
