Summary Statement of Research Interests

My research interests in sociology include political sociology, social movements, immigration and qualitative methods. I’m particularly interested in civic engagement, volunteering and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). My current work explores the interactions between NGOs and student volunteers in America. My previous publication (in China) was based on a three-year field work on college volunteers in an elementary school for migrant workers’ children in Beijing, China.
