Summary Statement of Research Interests

My research currently focuses on fictional countries in Russian and Western literatures and cinema. More broadly, I am interested in how writers, creating fictional worlds, emphasize their unreal quality and deal with the readers’ disbelief. Apart from that, I am interested in Russian poetry of the Silver Age, letters in non-epistolary prose, folklore motifs in belles-lettres, and languages and cultures of Serbia, Croatia and Poland.
