My main piece of advice is to get out of the exchange student bubble and meet people from different walks of life across the city: locals, expats, entrepreneurs, finance professionals, community-builders, musicians, etc; I went to ~20 events not related to my university and built a network of friends who made me feel connected to the city itself and want to go back.
