I chose to Study Abroad in Nicaragua because I wanted to immerse myself in the language and explore a country that isn’t a traditional “tourist destination”. Living in a third world country has definitely been an adjustment, but the learning opportunities it has provided have truly been invaluable. From hiking through the rainforest, to navigating the city, to learning to cook traditional Nicaraguan foods with my host mother, every day has brought a new set of adventures that I might have otherwise never experienced.
