Biography

Santiago Eslava-Bejarano is a doctoral student in the Spanish and Latin American Studies track of the Ph.D. program in Comparative Studies in Literature and Culture (CSLC) at the University of Southern California. He holds an M.A. in Latin American Literature from the University of California, Davis, and an M.A. in Literature from Universidad de Los Andes, where he also earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Literature.
His research explores the intersections of critical animal studies, environmental humanities, and continental philosophy. He investigates how narratives of human-animal relations shed light on questions of language, ethics and justice.
