Tim Cole
2014-2016 Interdisciplinary Research Week Team
Tim Cole earned his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Cambridge, where he focused on the spatiality of ghettoization in Budapest during the Holocaust. His research interests range across the historic and memory landscapes of the Holocaust with a particular focus on Hungary, but Tim also has broader interests in twentieth century historic landscapes and environmental histories. He is a member of the Holocaust Geographies Collaborative, which is one of a number of collaborative digital humanities and creative technologies projects that Tim is involved with. His most recent book – Holocaust Landscapes – draws on oral history and memoir accounts to tell the story of the Holocaust through a series of landscapes that victims moved – and were moved – through across the European continent.
