Linton Lee
Biography
My research interests are in economic development, global supply chains, and the role of the state. I study the strategies deployed by firms to manage their global supply chains and how states try to influence these firm strategies to achieve economic development and economic security. My co-authored working paper uses Bloomberg Terminal supply chain data of over 300 suppliers of Huawei between 2016 and 2024 to analyze the shifts in the inter-firm dependencies in Huawei’s global supply chains. I hold a master’s in international political economy from King’s, and a bachelor’s in physics from Imperial College London. I worked as a certified public accountant at KPMG, where I audited the financial statements of private and SEHK-listed companies from the electronics to healthcare industries in Hong Kong and mainland China. I have also worked at a digital tourism startup in Seoul for one year.
