The Department of Political Science and International Relations invites undergraduate students to apply to work in our offices in Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026. We seek motivated and reliable candidates to join our team.
 
The Department of Political Science and International Relations provides undergraduate students with a robust program that equips them with the knowledge and skills needed for careers in politics, public policy, administration, and law. We are a large department offering majors and minors in Political Science, International Relations, IR Global Business, and IR Global Economy, as well as an interdisciplinary major in Intelligence and Cyber Operations.
 
Main duties include:

  • Providing front desk support for the main office, advising office, and/or graduate program office (e.g. answering phones, check-ins for advising appointments, clerical tasks, copying/printing materials for faculty and staff, receiving and sorting mail, stocking and tracking office supplies)
  • Providing customer service to students, faculty, and other visitors to the department offices.
  • Assistance with department events and running errands
  • Other duties as assigned

 
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail, initiative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently on assigned tasks and also as part of a team
  • Punctuality
  • Clear and effective communication skills

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated familiarity with POSC, IR, or INCO programs
  • Experience in an office environment

 
Student employees are expected to work between 8-20 hours/week while classes are in session. Students may request additional hours during session breaks up to 37.5 hours/week. Students will be paid a starting hourly wage of $17.28
