Biography

I am Ph.D. candidate of Political Science and International Relations. My research explores how small states navigate geopolitical competition in the global arena, with a particular focus on the politics of recognition between China and Taiwan. Broadly, I have substantive research interests in Chinese foreign policy, Chinese relations with Latin America, and authoritarian political surival.

I am a former middle school teacher and hold two California teaching credentials (Multiple Subjects k-6 and Social Science 6-12.
