Biography

Chaerim Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science and International Relations (POIR) at USC. Before joining POIR, she earned an M.A. in Political Science from Seoul National University in South Korea. Her research examines gender and racial disparities in U.S. politics at both the candidate and voter levels. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that integrates political science, psychology, and sociology, her research explores how gender and racial stereotypes shape candidate evaluations, as well as how systemic factors drive gender and racial gaps in politics. Methodologically, she specializes in survey and experimental methods. Her work has been published in Politics & Gender and the Journal of Race, Ethnicity & Politics.
