Summary Statement of Research Interests

I am working on a theory of the concept of a person, in which I argue that this concept arises from our need to solve an interpretive problem–the problem of making sense of our person-related practices (e.g., dating, holding responsible). A particular conception of this concept makes sense of these practices by describing the sort of thing that is an appropriate target of these practices.
