Naomi Kearl – University of Auckland

Talk to me about: Anything!! I know every Ambassador says that, but I love to talk to people, and if you have any questions about anything, feel free to message me! I’m currently studying Human Biology and am pre-med (and I’ve already taken the MCAT!), so if you’re STEM-based, reach out! Or not haha, I also minor in Art History and am interested in most things 🙂 I love trying new things and learning, so I can give you ideas on what to do if bored and what to explore in a new country! I definitely feel like I have a good work-life balance and had a full study abroad experience, so I would love to talk about my time in New Zealand.

Advice: Treat the study abroad experience like a long-term vacation! Take chill classes that you’re actually interested in so you’ll enjoy going to class, go out every chance you get, and be open to meeting people that you may possibly never talk to again (or they may become your best friends who knows!). On the other hand, this is school; don’t beat yourself up if you don’t go out every weekend. Go out of your comfort zone, but stay within your energy levels. Really get to know your study abroad country — this might be the only time you see it!! Have so much fun!
