The Korean Heritage Library (KHL) was established in April, 1986 with the aim of building comprehensive collections in all areas of Korean Studies. Today, as a founding member of the Korean Collections Consortium of North America supported by the Korea Foundation, the KHL is among the best Korean Studies libraries in North America.

The Korean American Digital Archive brings documents, photographs, and sound files together in one searchable collection that documents the Korean American community during the period of resistance to Japanese rule in Korea and reveal the organizational and private experience of Koreans in America between 1903 and 1965.

In 1960, USC established the East Asian Studies Center (EASC) in order to provide dedicated leadership, coordination and support for the growing interdisciplinary education, research activity, and community outreach concerning East Asia. In addition to being an academic department, EASC has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading centers for the development of East Asian area studies with over 120 USC faculty in 44 departments and schools affiliated with EASC today.

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Southern California is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the languages, literatures, and cultures of China, Korea, and Japan from the premodern to contemporary periods. Located in Los Angeles, the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Southern California offers unparalleled access to institutional, cultural, and intellectual resources for the study of East Asia. Within the university, the department enjoys support from the East Asian Studies Center, the Korean Studies Institute, the USC School of Cinema Arts, the Center for Japanese Religions and Culture, the Center for Feminist Research, the Center for Law, History, and Culture, and the Visual Studies Graduate Certificate Program.

Established in 1971, the USC Pacific Asia Museum serves as a frontier for communities from all backgrounds to learn about the arts and culture of Asia and the Pacific Islands. The museum showcases its array of art pieces that span across both the contemporary and classic eras, and has raised the bar for most of Los Angeles’ arts-related activities ever since its founding.
The University of Southern California partnered with the museum in 2013. Their coalition has and continues to build upon the arts community within Los Angeles by offering educational and cultural resources, all while sparking dialogue about Pacific Asia-centered art history.
