Summary Statement of Research Interests

I am a historian of culture, travel, and empire in the modern history of the United States. My research currently centers around the growth of the cruise ship industry across the twentieth century, investigating the ties between tourism, mobility, capitalism, and cultural change in a transnational, mobile setting.
