Research

Zak’s research uses critical theory, decolonial thought, and the history of science to study the literary production of environmentalism in the United States. His previous work has used affect theory to study the literature of the American West, and he has ancillary interests in graveyards and documentary film. His writing has appeared in The Common and The Salt Lake Tribune, among other venues.
