Summary Statement of Research Interests

I am broadly interested in using the fossil record to reconstruct the evolution of Mammalian life, with emphasis on ecological questions and systematics. My previous co-authored research has dealt with the systematics and ecology of mostly North American, Miocene mammals. This has included artiodactyls such as antilocaprids, camelids, and cetaceans. My current research extends my interests both taxonomically, temporally, and methodologically, exploring body mass estimation and evolution, as well as the dietary ecologies of Mesozoic mammals (primarily Late Jurassic – Cretaceous) guided by a phylogenetic framework. My research heavily relies upon the invaluable data preserved in Natural History Museum collections across North America.
