Summary Statement of Research Interests
My interests within the ancient world are quite broad, but my focus tends to be on Greek tragedy, the emotions, ancient Judaism, and classical reception (particularly in First World War poetry and in East Asia). I am also interested in interdisciplinary methods, and so I have utilized film theory, as well as contemporary philosophy, in my previous work — respectively, on horror within Greek tragedy and on boredom. Though not my main area of focus, I am also interested in numismatics, especially as it relates to notions of identity.
