Read about the five objectives below.
-
Objective 1: Master basic knowledge fundamental to the field of chemistry in accordance with the expectations set forth by the American Chemical Society through coursework in general, organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, and biological chemistry.
Objective 2: Locate credible sources of current scientific information and data and understand their contents, including those not explicitly covered by the degree program.
-
Objective 3: Employ chemistry knowledge to analyze practical applications and/or relevant societal needs, including those not explicitly covered by the degree program.
Objective 4: Apply core knowledge, information, and data to understand a problem or a challenge at the molecular level. Design a scientific study to generate data and collect reliable information that is not yet available. Use the information and data from the study to develop a scientifically-backed strategy to solve the problem or challenge.
-
Objective 5: Establish rational criteria to evaluate the efficacy of the proposed solution to the problem or challenge.
