Faculty from the Department of Chemistry are actively involved in a range of public engagement activities which explain the relevance of our research to non-scientists and increase the involvement of underrepresented groups in STEM.

Beach Cleanups

The Fieser Research Group organizes three beach cleanups each year. In collaboration with Heal the Bay, they compile data on waste collection to be used for policy development. Research Internships

Since 2010, USC and Cerritos College have worked together to offer paid research internships to qualified Cerritos students. This 8-week, NSF-funded summer program introduces participants to USC’s ongoing laboratory research in energy and sustainability.
